Markéta Stará (1985) is a critic and curator currently based in Prague. She has published widely in Ateliér, Flash Art CZ/SK, Afterall.org, ArtMargins.com and ARTFORUM. She is a curator and residency program coordinator at the Center for Contemporary Art FUTURA in Prague, Czech Republic.

The focal point of the exhibition is the process of perceiving the local through the prism of the „other“. Based on subjective impressions and points of view, the project aims to comprehend and analyze the indigenous, in order to scrutinize and elaborate on its subjects. Although individual works seem to revolve predominantly around issues of the social, their meaning functions on multiple conceptual levels and thus avoids the notion of presenting a reductive view up on reality.
